Book Sale: The Spring 2012 Book Sale was a huge success with over 1,000 visitors and raising $8,300.00! Thank you to everyone who helped make this event a success. This year, for the first time, Book Sale Sponsorships were available for sale. Sponosor were:

The Book Sale Committee is busily preparing for the next upcoming Book Sale which is held in the Library basement. The Book Sale is the primary source of funding for Friends projects and scholarships. We look forward to seeing you there.

Wildflower!: Each year volunteers from the Friends support the community by volunteering at the Wildflower Festival. Volunteer organizations share a pool of money from tips by patrons of the festival. These funds help support the Friends organization. If you have an interest in being a volunteer contact us for more information. Dates for this year's festival are May 18-20 www.wildflowerfestival.com.
Mystery Lovers Challenge: For every dollar donated to the FOL between now and December 25, 2011, an anonymous donor will match the donations, dollar for dollar, up to $1000. Donations will be accpepted after the 25th, but will not be matched. Donate online here or mail checks to the Friends of the Richardson Library, P.O. Box 830993, Richardson, TX 75083. Be sure and note in the subject area that the donation is for the "Mystery Lovers Challenge." Funds will be used to purchase books on CD. They are very popular at the Richardson Library, but are also very expensive. Join with the FOL and mystery lovers of Richardson to enlarge and enrich this collection in the library. Donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Richardson Reads One Book: The 2011 book has been announced! Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet by Jaime Ford was announced as this year's choice on Thursday, March 31st. The Friends were well represented at the announcement and Jill Blevins presented a
check for $1,000.00 to Susan Allison to support the One Book program. Also in attendance was Kelly Bowman. Kelly is currently a Director on the Friends Board and it was announced at the One Book unveiling that she will now also be serving on the One Book Board as well.
